SurveyTracker provides the most complete approach for survey facilitation, implementation, and tracking on the market today. SurveyTracker covers every aspect of a survey project from survey design through analysis and reporting. SurveyTracker conveniently combines all these elements into one single package so users won't have to switch between programs to complete a project.
Only the SurveyTracker line of products offers so many ways to distribute the surveys and collect the response data. The various versions include the ability to distribute surveys on paper, USB thumb drive, scannable form, auto-hosted Web survey on SurveyTracker's web server, web surveys on your web server, and Intranet/Extranet or a combination of these methods.
Many organizations discover that SurveyTracker pays for itself after the first or second survey! SurveyTracker does everything needed to create and distribute surveys in one easy-to-use package AND alleviates hours of work best suited to other tasks. If you don’t use SurveyTracker, you could find yourself buried in three or four completely DIFFERENT software packages all to handle a single survey. And these programs might actually cost you MORE time and money in the long run through their price, the hassle of switching between products, the danger of losing data between them, and the simple fact they AREN’T DESIGNED FOR SURVEYS!
SurveyTracker Network version is installed on your network server with client versions installed on the end user PCs. SurveyTracker desktop versions are installed on the end user's computer (on the local hard drive). SurveyTracker itself is never installed on a web server and does not act as an ASP web service.
SurveyTracker is a desktop or client/server application; it does not run on your web server. SurveyTracker E-Mail/Web and SurveyTracker Plus E-Mail/Web will generate web files and scripts for the user's surveys that are uploaded to a web server.
Surveys can be distributed in a number of fashions depending on the version of SurveyTracker you own:

Yes, you can code write-in comments in SurveyTracker.
Coding write-in comments means reviewing the comments made by the respondents and determining common thoughts or ideas. These are then turned into a Code Book. You then assign a code to the write-in comments.
For example, given the question, “Please provide any comments about your job”, you may receive a certain number of positive, negative, and neutral responses. Positive responses can be assigned to one code, negative into a second, and neutral into a third.
Once the write-in is coded, you have effectively created a single or multiple response scale and populated it with data. You can then generate statistical reports based on the write-in data.
SurveyTracker supports single-bit languages such as English, Spanish, French, Russian, German, and Italian.
SurveyTracker doesn’t directly access LDAP/Active directory objects. The basic nature of LDAP and its uses to query information from a directory service is not supported. It cannot be used, for instance, to manage permissions in the network version or query a respondent/audience list.
If the LDAP service is installed on a Windows server with active directory, ST software will certainly run in that environment but it will not work with any of the LDAP services. It should run fine alongside it though.
The only way it might impact the user is if the user is logged into a Windows domain environment running SurveyTracker and attempts to open a file or access a directory via SurveyTracker that they do not have permission to open and/or access (as set forth via LDAP/Active Directory), SurveyTracker will not circumvent those permissions. So, in that respect SurveyTracker is LDAP compliant. It is following the permissions granted to the actively logged in Windows user.
